The Mandalay Canal Walk is Irving’s most photographed stretch — a half-mile waterway flanked by restaurants, hotels, and the canal boats that shuttle between Williams Square and the Irving Convention Center. At Williams Square Plaza (5215 N O’Connor Blvd, Irving, TX 75039), nine life-size bronze mustang sculptures by Robert Glen rise from the canal fountain in what remains one of the largest equestrian sculptures in the world. The surrounding plaza is a popular pre-event gathering point before Toyota Music Factory shows and a standard stop on Las Colinas corporate tour itineraries.
A minibus drops your group at Williams Square and gives you easy repositioning to any of the canal-side restaurants — Boi Na Braza, Cheddar’s, and half a dozen hotel bars — without hunting for parking on the narrow one-way canal streets. American Airlines Center (2500 Victory Ave, Dallas, TX 75219) is the home of the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars, with a 19,200-seat capacity that makes it one of the most active arenas in the country. Irving groups reach the arena via SH-183 east to I-35E north, exiting at Woodall Rodgers and cutting west on Victory Avenue — but the Mixmaster interchange on I-35E is one of the most notoriously congested structures in Texas, and post-event traffic heading back toward Irving can add 45 minutes to a route that should take 20. Official parking in the Victory Park garages runs $25–$40 pre-purchased; day-of lots on Olive Street often charge $40–$60.
Charter bus drop-off is curbside on Victory Avenue at the main arena entrance, steps from the ADA-accessible south entry. After the game, the bus waits nearby and picks the group up at a pre-arranged window so nobody is standing in a surge-priced rideshare queue at midnight.
